Ruby (Lead tutor & Founder of BrightSTEM Tutoring) 

Ruby is a science teacher specialising in Biology, with a BSc in Zoology, a MSc in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health, PGCE and QTS. She has six years of experience teaching and tutoring GCSE and A Level students, alongside working as an OCR examiner, giving her clear insight into how exam questions are marked and what examiners look for. Ruby is passionate about helping students build confidence, secure foundations and a calm, structured approach to learning. 

Having supported hundreds of learners with different needs and goals, she now leads BrightSTEM Tutoring, ensuring families are matched with knowledgeable, supportive tutors who provide reliable, high‑quality tuition.

Megan

Megan completed her BSc in Marine Biology before earning her PGDE and beginning her teaching career. She specialises in Biology but also teaches GCSE Chemistry and Physics, supporting students across all three sciences with clarity and patience. Now in her sixth year of teaching, she focuses on helping learners grow in confidence and understand topics they once found challenging.

 Outside the classroom, Megan loves hiking, hill walking, camping and birdwatching - anything that gets her outdoors. A favourite memory is spending a month in Greece studying nesting loggerhead turtles.

David

David is a calm, patient GCSE Maths tutor with a Bachelor of Education and 11 years of tutoring experience. He has taught learners of all ages and abilities, including extensive work with students who have special educational needs.

David is skilled at planning personalised programmes that help students strengthen their maths skills and improve their GCSE grades. His lessons often include real‑world links, from trees to cucumbers to windows, helping students see how maths fits into everyday life. 

One of his proudest achievements is supporting a highly anxious student who spoke only 30 words to him in a year and still achieved a Grade 4 at GCSE!

Tayyaba

Tayyaba is a structured and highly experienced GCSE Maths tutor with a Bachelor of Education, 3 years of classroom teaching and over 10 years of online tutoring experience. She teaches across multiple exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR A, OCR B and IGCSE. Her lessons are clear, organised and interactive, often using her whiteboard to break down tricky concepts step by step.

Known for her clear and supportive communication style, she keeps students focused and engaged throughout their sessions. She also speaks Urdu, which can be helpful for some families. 

Helen

Helen is a calm, reassuring Chemistry specialist with a BSc in Chemistry and a PGDE. She has 5 years of classroom experience teaching KS3, GCSE across all three sciences and A Level Chemistry. She has taught classes of varying abilities, including higher and foundation groups, and has extensive experience supporting students with SEN, both with and without EHCPs, adapting her teaching as needed. 

Alongside tutoring, Helen works in curriculum resource development, creating high‑quality teaching materials used by educators and schools. 

Her lessons are clear, exam‑focused and full of strong links to how topics appear in real exam questions, making her an excellent fit for students who need confidence and structure at A Level.

Nela

Nela is a Dentistry student with extensive experience tutoring Biology, Chemistry and Maths at both GCSE and A Level. She also supports students preparing for the UCAT and applications to competitive healthcare courses.

Nela's lessons are highly personalised and focused on helping students understand difficult concepts rather than simply memorising information. Using real-life examples and clear explanations, she brings challenging topics to life while adapting her teaching to suit each learner. Friendly, patient and encouraging, she knows when to offer support and when to challenge students.

Alongside strong scientific knowledge, Nela brings first-hand experience of a highly competitive academic pathway, making her an excellent mentor for students aiming for ambitious grades and careers in science or healthcare.
